Mark has arranged for special music along\nthis theme. Right now there is so much fear in our neighbors and community because of\nhateful legislation and rhetoric\, it behooves us to remind us of God’s promise\, God’s\ninclusive community\, Christ’s message\, and our call to love. If you’ve ever wondered\nwhat the Bible says about trans folk\, or if you just want to come and show your support\,\nthis Sunday’s worship service is for you.\nAfter worship we will have Bible Study and will be studying the passage where Jesus\ntalks about same-sex relationships\, and it’s all positive.\nPlease join us as we dig deep into scripture and celebrate our diverse neighborhood.\nWe look forward to seeing you there.\nMany Blessings\,\nPastor Tracy

DESCRIPTION:Bible Study: The Clobber Texts \nSunday Afternoons from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM\, beginning April 26 \nWest Hollywood United Church of Christ – in the Fellowship Hall \n7350 Sunset Boulevard\, Los Angeles\, CA 90046 \nPlease join us for an intensive Bible Study in which we study the passages most commonly used to disenfranchise the LGBTQ+ community. These passages are often quoted\, traditionally legislated\, and regularly weaponized. Have you ever wondered if they really mean what we are told? If so\, why does it matter? \nIn this series will delve deeply into eight passages most commonly associated with the issue of homosexuality and the Bible. When put into their proper context\, we find that these passages have surprising meanings and new messages of hope for us today. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to brown bag your lunch or bring something to share if you would like.
