DESCRIPTION:Dear friends in Christ\,\nWe will be celebrating Pride Sunday\, June 7\, with full festivities. Mark has prepared\nspecial music and we encourage you all to wear rainbows to worship. We will be\nstudying a piece of scripture from the Psalms that describes dancing amidst chaos\, a\ndefiant and revolutionary act.\nWe will not gather for Bible Study this Sunday\, June 7 because I am assuming most\nfolks will be off at the WeHo Pride Festival on Sunday afternoon. DESCRIPTION:Bible Study: The Clobber Texts \nSunday Afternoons from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM\, beginning April 26 \nWest Hollywood United Church of Christ – in the Fellowship Hall \n7350 Sunset Boulevard\, Los Angeles\, CA 90046 \nPlease join us for an intensive Bible Study in which we study the passages most commonly used to disenfranchise the LGBTQ+ community. These passages are often quoted\, traditionally legislated\, and regularly weaponized. Have you ever wondered if they really mean what we are told? If so\, why does it matter? \nIn this series will delve deeply into eight passages most commonly associated with the issue of homosexuality and the Bible. When put into their proper context\, we find that these passages have surprising meanings and new messages of hope for us today. Light refreshments will be provided. Feel free to brown bag your lunch or bring something to share if you would like.
