DESCRIPTION:Dear friends in Christ\, \nThis Sunday we continue on our trek with Jacob on his journey and evolution from\noutcast to great leader. Last week we learned of God’s promise to Jacob which –\nconsidering Jacob’s situation and trouble that he caused – sounds outlandishly\nimpossible. But God has plans for Jacob\, and is determined to transform him into a\nleader. This Sunday we see Jacob faced with difficult choices that are important steps in\nthe foundation of the Nation of Israel. Was Jacob a helpless victim who was conned? Or\ndid God use this situation to bring Jacob to a new level of maturity? And (BONUS!) what\ndoes the Bible really say about marriage? The answer may surprise you. \nAfter worship we will gather for our continuing Bible Study series on chapters 5-7 in the\nGospel of Matthew. This coming Sunday we will be making Affirming Bibles as we\npractice living into Matthew 5:1-16. If you would like to participate\, please bring a Bible\nthat you are willing to mark up or make notes in\, and a Biblical Passage that you find\nhopeful or affirming of God’s unconditional love for you.
