Dear friends in Christ,
We are continuing our Pride Sermon series with a passage in which lesbians are
discussed. This is doubly-surprising because 1) the Bible rarely discusses female-
female relationships, and 2) Paul defends them. As we are seeing more and more
hateful speech and violence tied up with religion in our country and on the very streets
of our beloved city, we must continue to dig deep in order to remember God’s love for all
humanity. We must continue to speak truth to justice. We must continue to preach
tolerance and nonviolence amidst rising tensions and growing divisions. I sincerely hope
you will join us as we continue to honor Pride Month and all of the diverse of God’s
children that it celebrates.
