Dear friends in Christ,

This Sunday we will be reading the story of Jesus healing the Centurion’s servant. This story is a brief encounter in Jesus’ ministry, but rich with political, social, and moral meaning. We have heard the commandment, “love your enemy,” but what does it look like to put that into action? This short dialogue between Jesus and the Centurion gets to the heart of that question and still speaks volumes for today’s society.

Since we transitioned from Facebook to Zoom for our online worship, we have been behind on getting our recordings up for people to view after Sunday. We are now up and running with our sermons on YouTube. If you missed any of our Pride Series, you can find them here:

Due to the current political climate and out of an abundance of respect for folks’ privacy, I made the decision to only upload the scripture and sermons where the camera is focused on the pulpit. Portions of the worship service that show folks in the pews, or have people’s names displayed on the Zoom screen will not be available on YouTube at the current time.

Blessings for August Birthdays and Anniversaries – Sunday, August 10 during worship.

Membership Class – Saturday, August 23 from 10 AM – 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall. If you are interested in joining West Hollywood United Church of Christ, come to the class to learn more. Our by-laws state that anyone who has been attending and donating for a year, and attended a membership class, can be approved by Council to join. If you would like more information, please contact Pastor Tracy.
