Dear friends in Christ,

Christmas is upon us, and it is a joy to celebrate it with all of you! This Sunday we will be retelling the story of the birth of Christ, the moment when God’s word became incarnate and dwelled among us. This is a very familiar story, but many don’t realize how shocking it was at the time it was written. We are so used to the familiar imagery of the inn, the angels, the shepherds, and the manger, that we don’t recognize the numerous dichotomies that lay within.

This is a story of hope in the unlikeliest of places, love for the unlikeliest of people, peace in the unlikeliest of empires, and God in the unlikeliest of forms. Please join us this Sunday as we dig into an ancient story with a timeless message of faith, hope, peace, and love and hear what wisdom and hope it carries for us in our own time, place, people, and forms.

Come celebrate with us at either 11 AM or 5 PM on Sunday the 24^th for a beautiful and celebratory candlelit service, the lighting of the Advent Wreath, an abundance of Christmas carols, and extra-festive refreshments following both worship services.
