Our local Dare to Struggle group who meets at our church is hosting a meeting tomorrow night, Wednesday, at 7 PM at our church. Please see their message and information below. I plan on attending to learn more about what we can do to protect our community and resist unjust actions by ICE and will look forward to seeing you there.

“Thousands have taken to the street demanding justice for Renee Good, Keith Porter and Alex Pretti. Federal agents responding to protests by killing, maiming and arresting those brave enough to defy them, while local Democrat politicians do nothing to stop them. Families with young children languish in concentration camps, demanding: “Libertad!”

We’ve been moved by the spirit of righteous rebels like Kayden Rummler, who lost his eye after getting shot point blank by a federal agent in Santa Ana on January 8th and who has continued to fight untiringly. The spirit of people who place what’s right over their own self-interest, who make sacrifices to fight for justice.

This Wednesday, at 7 pm at the West Hollywood United Church, we’ll have a meeting to launch the Spring Surge to Melt ICE, a national campaign to take this resistance into the schools, the immigrant neighborhoods, and church communities. It’s time to organize the masses to rebel against the deportation machine. We can’t do this without the support of people whose faith in God compels them to protect the vulnerable and to take a stand. We’re thankful for our role as a ministry of the West Hollywood United Church of Christ and we wish to deepen this relationship.
