Please Join Us This Sunday, April 27, 2025!

April 27, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Dear friends in Christ,

Doubting Thomas got a bad rap. I’ll just say it right now that that is what I’m going to be preaching on this coming Sunday. Usually a sub will come in on the first Sunday after Easter so you’ve never heard me talk about Doubting Thomas, but it has always bothered me that the prevailing interpretation of this is that people who are skeptical about doctrine are somehow shameful. Well, I disagree with that sentiment and with that interpretation.

So please join us this Sunday as we break down the story of Reasonably-Skeptical-Question-Asker Thomas (it’s just a working title for now, something we’ve been kicking around the office) and learn that it may just be OK to question God and expect answers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our Maundy Thursday service, Easter morning service, and Easter reception so beautiful and sacred. So many hearts and hands went into putting that together, and I’m grateful to all of you. You can see pictures of Holy Week HERE.

You should know that West Hollywood United Church of Christ made it into the news. The Mental Health workers who are on strike with Kaiser held a hunger strike last week. Their story appeared on NPR and CalMatters and LAist and Los Angeles Daily News and dozens of other news outlets. Thank you to everyone who donated bedding supplies and electrolytes to their cause. You can learn more about the workers’ cause here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Many blessings,

Pastor Tracy
