Dear friends in Christ,

First off, I’d like to give a special thanks to Rev. Howard Fauntroy for serving as our

guest preacher last Sunday while I was out of the office. It’s always a joy to hear one of

Rev. Howard’s messages. This Sunday we are continuing our series of Pride Sermons

by tackling the concept of gay folk and heaven. There are some who will claim the Bible

says that homosexuals can’t get into heaven. There are two passages that are usually

cited for this argument, and yet – as usual – this scripture is a victim of poor translation

that has simply gotten worse over the years. This Sunday we will dig into two letters

from Paul that address folks that harm society and map out what heaven is. You may be

surprised to find that these passages so often used to harm the LGBTQ+ community

actually contain messages of hope and justice that still ring especially relevant today.

This Sunday we will be blessing all folk with birthdays, anniversaries, and other special
