Dear friends in Christ,

Over the next five weeks, we will be studying the story of Jacob. Jacob is one of the
patriarchs of our faith, the one whose name was changed to Israel, the father of the
twelve tribes of Israel. But before he became a patriarch, his backstory is full of trials
and tribulations, and his selection as the Chosen One is wildly improbable. So what can
this this tell us about who and how God chooses people to change the world? And this
story has much to teach us about how God can take the strangest, most fraught
circumstances and use them to change the world.

Thank you to everyone who helped to assemble lunches last Sunday, we created 95!
In Bible Study after worship, we will continue with our series on the Kin-dom of God and
living into it, based on the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7.
