Dear friends in Christ,

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, often called the Birthday of the Church. We will be
reading the story from Acts in which the disciples – moved by the Holy Spirit – begin
sharing the good news in the streets of Jerusalem, and – despite everyone speaking
different languages – they all understand one another. This wasn’t just a miracle, this
was a bold action and statement taken by the disciples that both challenged and
frightened the establishment. This story raises questions about salvation, unity, and the
power of people coming together.

On Pentecost we traditionally wear red so I encourage you to wear your reddest outfits!
We will be taking a break from Bible Study for the next few weeks, and will resume with
a new series on Sunday mornings at 9 AM. Please stay tuned for updates!
