May 24 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Dear friends in Christ,
This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the church. The second chapter of
Acts describes a phenomenally full day with multiple transformations in individuals and
within an entire community. While we often focus on the miracle of the languages,
flames appearing, and enormous wind, Peter’s sermon warrants a close look. In it,
Peter combines history, prophecy and the concept of God’s promises fulfilled right
before our eyes. God’s miracle confuses people, but Peter’s speech galvanizes them.
The words he uses still hold true today, and for all the same reasons. Please join us this
Sunday as we dive into the miracle of Pentecost and celebrate the formation of the first
Christian community.
It is traditional to wear red on Pentecost, and so we invite everyone to join us in
their red for worship!
Bible Study will be held immediately following worship in the Fellowship Hall. This week
we will study Romans 1:26-27, a passage often cited as anti-lesbian. Nothing could be
further than the truth, and we invite you to join us as we put this passage back into its
proper context to see how Paul was actually a staunch advocate for the rights of
females in same-sex relationships.
Please donate to Strengthen the Church or CLICK HERE to donate via Vanco.
On Monday, May 25 the office will be closed in honor of Memorial Day.
We will look forward to seeing you there!
Many blessings,
Pastor Tracy
