Dear friends in Christ,
Faith means different things to different people. Jesus tells us that his disciples that if
they but come to Him, Jesus will give them rest. What does it mean to cast your
burdens on God? What does it mean to have rest when we grow weary? What does
Jesus mean when He talks about His ‘yoke’ versus other ‘yokes’? The concept of
casting our burdens on God is not only a theological concept, it is a spiritual practice
and fundamental to our discipleship. Please join us as we look closely at this invitation
from Christ and discern how to answer it in our own lives.
In Bible Study we are working our way through Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in the
Gospel of Matthew. This week we are focusing on chapter 6:16-23 – fasting, hypocrisy,
and where our focus lies.
