The stories of David the boy shepherd verses David the king have long fascinated me with their depictions of completely different personalities for the same person. As we bless our veterans for Veteran’s Day, this story of David as unwitting soldier and later commander of armies has much to teach us. We also have much to learn about our faith’s history and relationship to soldiers and war. Much of what we claim to believe was birthed by veterans in the aftermath of wars. Please join us this Sunday as we bless our veterans and dig into this rich scripture and our own history and belief.

Congregational Meeting Recap: For those who were unable to attend the Congregational Meeting on October 26, we are pleased to announce that Henry Penner was elected to serve on Council for the next two years, and we thanked and recognized the many years of service of Tom Droney, who is stepping down from Council when his term expires at the end of this year.

Our treasurer, Rodney Chadderton, reported on the church’s budget, our plan for long-term sustainability, and how everyone can help. Watch for more info soon!

The Knitting/Crocheting ministry is meeting this Saturday, November 8 from 9-12 for its potluck brunch and crafting time. Please bring your craft of choice, or avail yourself of our supply of yarn, needles, and crochet hooks. We can teach you!
