Dear friends of Christ,
The book of Exodus is about people that defy expectations. Over and over they are forced to choose between the status quo, the old ways, or boldly stepping into new territory that feels treacherous and uncertain. But long before Moses parts the waters, long before the people are taken to task for building the golden calf, long before manna falls from heaven or frogs fall from the sky, it starts with two women who defy authority. They quietly subvert expectations for blind obedience and they resist and sabotage tyrannical authority. Without them, we wouldn’t have Moses. Without them, there never would have been a “Let my people go,” because there would no longer have been a people to let go. Their tiny acts of defiance risked their own lives, but changed the fate of a nation.
Join us this Sunday as we learn about two unlikely and undercelebrated outlaws and how much they have to tech us about resistance against fascism.
We will look forward to seeing you there!
Many blessings,
Pastor Tracy
