The Rainbow Book Bus is a traveling LGBTQ+ book fair that aims to protect and promote queer literature. With the help of nearly 4,000 donors, co-founders Eric Cervini and Adam Powell purchased, designed, and transformed a 22-foot school bus into a solar-powered queer bookmobile. Partnering with the way OUT Foundation, the Rainbow Book Bus plans to travel from California to Florida, donating 10,000 queer books to LGBTQ+ centers in underserved areas that are bearing the brunt of a record-breaking influx of book bans and anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. The Rainbow Book Bus made its debut at the Los Angeles Pride Parade this summer and since then has been running local book fairs throughout the LA area to continue raising funds for the upcoming tour.
